This is a quality reproduction Texas Ranger Badge from our "Old West Law Badge" collection. This badge was worn by the Texas Rangers in from the early to late 1800's. The Texas Rangers were unofficially created by Stephen Austin in a call-to-arms written in 1823 and were formally created on October 17th, 1835.
The first badges were made for individual Texas Rangers from Mexican coins at their request, mainly by local gunsmiths. There were several badges created but this was the main design for this era.
This badge can be used for movie or stage productions and historical enactments. Excellent addition to any collection of old west memorabilia and can be used for decorative uses.
