About the author:
Philip Varney visited his first ghost town as a child and ever since has searched the old west to learn about the multitude of mysterious abandoned towns and settlements.  An avid bicyclist, mountain bike rider and outsdoorman he loves exploring on his own and learning the history of the places.  Arizona Ghost Towns and Mining Camps was originally published in 1994 and was Varney's fifth book.  He has authored several other ghost town guides for norther and souther California, Colorado, New Mexico and the Pacific Northwest.  All of his books have been updated with GPS waypoints to enhance your enjoyment and exploration of the towns of the old west.
